Be not Moved away from the Hope of the Gospel

Many Christian are moved away from their original beliefs. A pastor once said to me, ‘I have moved away from preaching the true gospel.’ He marvelled, I don’t understand how I got to this place.

I do not preach about the cross of Jesus Christ, the blood of Jesus or about the love of God. What I preach is in the Bible. It is close to the truth and parallel to the real gospel. I do not understand how I got here, ‘he wondered.

Sometimes, when I review my books, I try to see if I have moved away from the things which I originally believed. I am always glad when I find that I still believe most of the things I believed at the beginning. You can trust what I am saying.

Many people start out in a certain way but are moved from their original faith. That is why Paul was happy to announce three important things at the end of his life. ‘I have kept the faith! I have finished my course! I have run my race!’

Paul experienced a lot of pressure, problems and afflictions during his preaching life. Even when his life was threatened, he said, ‘But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God’ (Acts 20:24).

Brethren, have the faith, run the race and finish hard.
