$30million e-waste recycling facility to begin this year at Agbogbloshie
This is a project expected to be completed within the span of 2 years. It is an initiative by the government of Ghana to correct the improper disposal of electronic waste. As well as, its challenges to our health and the environment.
The Agbogbloshie E-waste Recycling Facility is a project implemented by the Ministry of Environment,Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI). In collaboraton with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and some private entities.
The Agbogbloshie e-waste burning site has been described as one of Africa’s biggest e-waste dumpsites in recent times. It has also been cited among the top 10 most polluted sites in the world – Hence the need for a better and safer control of waste.
