Isaiah 7:15 reads, “Butter and HONEY shall he eat, that he may know to REFUSE THE evil, and CHOOSE THE GOOD.”
We all make countless minor and major decisions on a daily basis. Even the minor ones aggregate over time to become major decisions. For example, simple decisions concerning what you eat and drink eventually determine your health and wealth. Major decisions like marriage can leave a bitter or sweet taste in your mouth for the rest of your life.
To make good decisions, you must first know “how to refuse the evil and choose the good.” This means DISCERNMENT. All that glitters is not gold; it could be the eye of a snake.
Secondly, you must have the STRENGTH OF WILL to choose good. When it comes to matters of love, passion can overpower good judgment.
The solution is to eat, “butter and honey” the word of God. It will increase your discernment and strengthen your will. Butter is a product of milk and we are told in 1 Peter 2:2, that the word is like milk.
In Ezekiel 3:3, the prophet said the word became like honey in his mouth.
