Do You Feel Unworthy?

do you feel unworthy by myles munroe

Feelings of unworthiness will sabotage your prayer life. You cannot pray effectively if you feel ashamed of yourself and unworthy to receive what you request of God.

If you have a low opinion of yourself, you don’t know God’s true regard for you as revealed in His Word. Here is a marvelous Scripture that describes how God sees us: In love [God] predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding….In him we were also chosen. (Ephesians 1:4–8, 11, emphasis added) We were chosen in Christ long before the earth was made.
God lavishes His love on us. Self-loathing is not from God, but from the enemy. Satan doesn’t want you to realize that your value to God is incalculable.
The book of Hebrews says we’re so precious to God that He gave Jesus to be the sacrifice, or propitiation, for our sin. (See chapter 10.) Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence [“come boldly to the throne of grace” NKJV], so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” In light of our value to God, we can respect ourselves and approach Him as chosen children who have received “the riches of God’s grace” (Ephesians 1:7).
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the riches of Your grace. Please guide me into Your truth so that I will always approach Your throne with the confidence of being Your child. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Thought: A low opinion of yourself is not from God.
