If the Holy Spirit leaves you when you sin, who also can help you?
In John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Likewise the Spirit also HELPETH our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning’s which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what the mind of the Spirit is, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. – Romans 8:26,27
The word “Helpeth” in the Greek is sunantilambanomai which means to lay hold along with, to strive to obtain with others, help in obtaining to take hold with another, to take hold of opposite together, that is, co-operate (assist): – help.
To need assistance means you cannot do it all by yourself.
God gave you an assistant to help because He foreknew you might blow it sometimes.
It is not a shock to God when you blow it, it is a shock to Him when you prevent, resist or restrain the Holy Spirit from helping you.
Your weakness is not the guarantee of God’s rejection, it’s rather the guarantee of His intervention.
You can’t do it alone and He can’t do it without your cooperation.
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Your sins and weaknesses are not powerful enough to cast God out of you, but His Love, Grace and kindness is powerful enough to cast sinful behaviour out of you.
