I sat at the edge of my seat all night yesterday, as I watched the AFCON 2017 Semi-Final match between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Cameroonians. I screamed and shouted all through. Sure I was a nuisance to my hubby but hey, he forced me to watch so I did.

But I wasn’t alone in this. Several others on social media couldn’t hold back their comments. I must confess some were pretty harsh, whilst others were fairly objective.

What I don’t really understand is why we get so judgmental about our National Team whenever they lose a match. I agree they made some serious mistakes, missed various chances, but do we always have to respond this way?

I believe we can find alternative ways other than being overly critical. I could feel their persistence and willingness to make history yester night, but well, it didn’t go that well.

Dear friends, I believe in the Black Stars; I believe in my country; I believe our moment will one day come. In the meantime, let’s pray for them; suggest better ways to get them in shape both mentally and physically, and let’s see what God will do.

Let’s cherish what we have; there is no place like home!

God bless our homeland Ghana!!!
