How do you handle daily pressure?

Question

Anytime I plan to do the right thing, my friends come in and influence me to do things I know are wrong. Amazingly enough, I easily give in but later worry that God may not be happy with me.

Solution

There are so many times we easily give in to pressure. From either our friends, family, group or an organisation we find ourselves in. And most of the times, we end up doing the things that are absolutely wrong. Which most cases, hurt our feelings later on or that of others.

What makes it extra worse, is the guilt you feel about the actions you take due to these pressures. The Bible warns, “Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. … Do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd” (Exodus 23:2).

Have you ever wondered why you easily give in to negative influences around you? Well, the initial reason could be because it is simply easier to go along with the crowd. Since it is much easier to be with the crowd not against the crowd. Another possible reason, is to be accepted. But remember, people who lead you to wrong engagements are never your friend. Since they don’t have your best interests at heart. The Bible says, “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin” (Proverbs 18:24).

What To Do

Tune your minds to the things of God. Follow the instructions in the word of God and you will be absolutely safe in your decisions. Where you do ot get bothered about anyone’s opinion or approval.
