Is it Biblical to marry a lady because she got pregnant for the man?

Most often ladies dream of how they want to get married to the love of their life and to be with a God fearing and caring man who would always be there when they need them and to support them.

Today’s society springs up something different in that, the youth of today through the use of the internet and television, they tend to pick up habits from the outside world through Telenovelas, soap operas, sitcoms and movies.

It has made it difficult for Christians to look cool and not side with the pattern and trend of behaviors going around. Gone were the days when  our mothers and fathers sat us down to tell us stories about how they  chose their partners and settled down with them.

There are tales of their fathers having to go into the woman’s family to investigate whether the lady would be the right fit for their son in marriage and also look at the compatibility with regards to tribes and family history.

They were mostly involved with their children’s lives and most often their marriages turns to last longer. Today things are different, the sons get to go find the lady they want before coming to announce to their parents their choice, some go as far as moving in with their partners way before they are pronounced husband and wife.

As believers,we might at some point in time come across these scriptures in the bible that speaks about marriage.

Genesis  34:9  And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.

Luke  20:34  And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

Hebrews  13:4  Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

This makes us understand that if it is a proper way to handle marriage then it should be that the daughters be given to the sons in marriage and this makes marriage a thing to be honoured.

Proverbs  12:4  A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs  31:10  Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

It is true that God ordained marriage just as said in Genesis  2:24  Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. But it would not be biblical if we as humans choose to lust after the flesh and fall into sin by going to live with the opposite sex which results into pregnancy and with the attempt of hiding it from the society the couple is forced into marriage.

Bishop Charles Agyinasare in a conference with the Youth wing of Perez Chapel International, said in his advice to the youth that it is not advisable to marry someone just because you fell into sin. This does not mean they should not be responsible for their actions.
