An Aeromexico flight crashed due to heavy hail storms in Northern Mexico. Which left the plane in flames and injured 97 people.
The Embraer 190 aircraft, operated between Durango and Mexico City. It crashed around 3:00 pm (20:00 GMT), carried “88 adults, 9 minors, 2 infants, 2 pilots and flight attendants”.
“It is confirmed that there have been no deaths from the flight #AM2431 accident.” aside 2 injuries frm a pilot and female passenger.
However, 97 persons were treatment following the crash, with majority minor injuries.
It was reported, the pilots tried making an emergency landing, before the fire broke out. The crew were later praised for their professionalism.
No information has been released yet in relation to the cause of the aircraft setting on fire. However, an investigation team have been set to find out the cause.
A similar incident happened in July 1981. Where an Aeromexico flight crashed on landing in Northern Chihuahua due to bad weather. Unfortunately, this flight killing 32 people.
