Monday, 20 November 2017 – All out for the Lord

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. – Acts 20:24 (KJV)

The 20th chapter of the  book of Acts is a very touching episode in the life of Apostle Paul. One can easily be moved to tears as you hear his farewell message to the church in Ephesus. His message to the church is still valid and speaks volumes especially to this current generation that is probably more sophisticated and worldly minded.

Apostle Paul, a man who had possibly suffered everything anyone could suffer for the sake of the gospel said in our opening verse ‘But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God’. How many Christians can say these things today?

Most Christians are not as passionate about the GOSPEL as required by the Lord Jesus. Every challenge they face move them. They count their lives dear to them. They are not willing to lose a finger for the gospel. Even among preachers, some are in for the gain not the pain how much more the members they are raising. The GOSPEL is not even secondary to them. All they know is they are saved but will not lift a finger for the salvation of the world, their lives and dream is what matters to them.

Whiles Paul strove to finish his course and ministry received from the Lord, they are fighting and even paying bribes to realise their family and personal ambitions. No wonder the Lord doesn’t reveal himself to most people today as He did with Apostle Paul and the rest of the mighty saints who laid down their lives down for the gospel. It is my belief that the Lord is not much enthused about many Christians and ministers today as He was with many who were of old because of how we place self above Him when He had said in Luke 14:26 (KJV) that:  ‘If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple’. Forsake self from today and let the Lord be first in your life!

CONFESSIONS
Nothing moves me when it comes to the Lord Jesus and His Gospel of Grace, I don’t count my life dear unto me because I want to finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
