Overcoming Social Influence

2 Corinthians 6:14 -16 ”Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

We all have people in our lives including family. But in our Christian walk, they can be vessels for Christ Jesus or Satan. This is why you can find some families, friends, communities or organizations being against your beliefs and values.

There’s always one thing to know, if they are not in your life to build it, they are in it to break it. So you have to make the decision to move with those who go with Jesus Christ and pray for those who don’t go with Jesus.

Hate the world and its influences. Subject the flesh to the authority of the Holy Spirit because if you don’t, the world will subject you to its pleasures.

May the Holy Spirit convict you of unrighteousness and ungodliness all the time in Jesus’ name, Amen.
