Helen Yawson is an accomplished Gospel Singer, Author and Worship Leader. She is an associate pastor and Head of the Music Division of KICC Ghana. She is married to Ps. Andy Yawson and they have 2 kids.
Pastor Helen, a product of KICC London, led the Choir there, before relocating to Ghana with her family. She is the Director of VOICEMANIA, a company committed to developing vocal talents through seminars (WORSHIP MASTER CLASS) and personal tuition.
Her first solo Album was released in 1998 and the second in 2001. Following that was the highly acclaimed single, “Any Day,” which was released in 2006. In August 2012, she released, “My God and I.” Then came the single “Thirsty” and “Hallelujah.”
Her annual concert dubbed Helen Yawson Live in Concert took off in 2012 in Accra, Ghana and has been a success ever since.
For someone who didn’t hesitate to display her talent as a primary school girl and later as a teenage singer at St Anne’s School in Ibadan, Nigeria, the future couldn’t be brighter and nothing would prove a stumbling block in her desire to perform at the highest level.
She says; “I think I play two roles: worship and inspirational music, but when I write, I go into the role of a worshipper. To me, worship is about what you’re saying, it’s not a style. It can be rock and roll, reggae or fugi. I think it’s not confined to a genre.”
Helen Yawson’s ministry is undoubtedly unique, marked as it is by the heart of a woman who is determined to lead the nations in true, unbridled worship to a God who so deeply desires it.
