Righteousness In Spiritual Warfare
Your breastplate of righteousness (1 Pet.1:14). The breastplate covers the vital organs and speaks of the heart. The breastplate of righteousness fortifies your heart against the enemy’s attacks. Allow the righteousness revealed in God’s Word to influence your mind and touch your heart.
The breastplate of righteousness refers to the righteousness purchased for us by Jesus at the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21). At salvation, a “breastplate” is issued to each repentant sinner. It is specially designed by God to protect our heart and soul from evil and deception. Our own righteous acts are no match for Satan’s attacks (Isaiah 64:6). The breastplate of righteousness has Christ’s name stamped on it, as though He said, “Your righteousness isn’t sufficient to protect you. Wear mine.”

Our Righteousness comes through faith in the Lord
Romans 1:17
17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
There are hundreds of promises in the Bible concerning the blessings of righteousness.
Here are a few:
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Psalm 1:5-6 “Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.”
Psalm 5:12 “For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.”
Psalm 34:17 “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.”
Psalm 34:19-20 “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; 20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.”
Psalm 92:12-15 “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
Psalm 112:4 “Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.”
Proverbs 10:16 “The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.”
Proverbs 11:23 “The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked only in wrath. “
Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
Proverbs 24:15-16 “Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against a righteous man’s house, do not raid his dwelling place; 16 for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity. “
James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. “
Our Righteousness Comes from Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 1:30-31 “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God– that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: ‘Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.'”
Remember,
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, (do not ignore him) steadfast in the faith,
knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” (1 Peter 5:8-9)
