Strict Anti-abortion Law

American Republican Dewey Phillip Bryant has been the acting governor for the people of Mississippi since 2012. He has currently agreed to a law that puts extreme restrictions to “Abortion” in the United States of America.

In the bill, a pregnancy cannot be terminated after 21 days (3 weeks) with rape or incest inclusive. However, cases linked with abnormal foetal growth and development are excluded from this law. Since this puts either mother or child in a life-threatening condition.

The new law is contrary to the initial bill that banned pregnancies from being aborted after 20 weeks (5 months).

Despite this amendment, the Centre for Reproductive Rights has filed a case against the passed bill to support the Jackson Women’s Health Organization. This Organization is said to be the only clinic in Mississippi that handles abortion cases.
