Sunday, 10 December 2017 – Grace Through Submissive and Humility

Scripture: 1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Being submissive to the elderly means being respectful and obedient. The elderly comprises of those who are older than you and those in authority. Authority is given as a result of taking up a position in the society.

There is more grace in being humble to these people. The elderly include senior siblings, seniors at school, seniors at the workplace, prefects at school, associations, parents, presidents, chiefs and kings, etc. You must give such people all the necessary respect due them whether you are older than them or not. In humility, one becomes great. Greatness is from God.

God expects man to be humble and obedient.

One thing that people are being ignorant about is the fact that everyone is a subordinate and therefore needs to be humble and submissive at all times. You might have authority over someone but he might be older than you.

No matter the position you hold, you need to be humble and submissive to God who is the author of all power and authority. It is in this that the Lord will lift you high and make you great in grace.
Humble yourself and grace shall abound you.

Prayer: Thank You God for another day. Lift us O Lord to the level that You want, that we may decrease and You may increase. In Jesus Name. Amen.

May the Lord lift you to His side. Amen!
