2 Samuel 15:31 – When someone told David that his adviser Ahithophel was now backing Absalom, David prayed, “O Lord, let Ahithophel give Absalom foolish advice!”
In the scripture reading and the story told in 2Samuel 15, we see a conspiracy being cooked up. By King David led by his own son (Absalom) and other strong supporters from his kingdom (Ahithophel-One of David’s close advisers).
Strangely, when David realised he was beginning to lose grounds. He never run for any human help to devise a way to attack back. All he did was going back to God Almighty and request for one thing. He prayed ”O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.”
This shows the power and worth of the words that came out of the man named Ahithophel. Because David did not seem bothered about anyone’s support and loyalty to his son than Ahithophel.
In life, you find yourself in situations of this kind. Where your most trusted friend or confidant, becomes the one sabotaging you. However, we always have a friend who will never leave nor forsake us. All we have to do is seek for Him. Yearn for his presence and most importantly, grow our relationship with Him.
This is the right way to keep us in tune to handle every battle or accusations targeted at us. Amen!
