One day, a friend of mine in a foreign country invited me for dinner. He introduced me to a particular meal, which was new to me. I had never eaten it before. In fact, it didn’t look attractive at all. He however, managed to convince me to at least taste it. Upon tasting, I came to a conclusion that it was one of the most delicious meals I had ever tasted in my life. I wouldn’t have known this if I hadn’t tasted it.
Psalm 34:8 reads, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
There are many Christians, who want to experience the goodness of God in their lives, but are unwilling to take the first step; “taste.” How do you taste spiritual things, you may ask? By trusting in God and not relying on your senses – “…blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
There are times God may choose someone for you to marry, who may not look very “attractive” to you; He may direct you to start something new, which may seem impossible to you or He may ask you to give up something in your life. At that moment, your job is not to rely on your senses; your job is to trust Him.
Until you put your trust in God, you will never experience His goodness!
