My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden; for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For He that is mighty has done to me great things; holy is His name.” – Luke 1:46 – 49
Mary’s prayer song is teaches us that God glorifies the humble but despises haughtines. We also see that God loves a Christian with ‘yes yes’ attitude. How surrendered are you to God? Mary surrendered and God glorified her. In Mary’s own words, she said “all generations shall call me blessed.” Do you want to be blessed?
Without doubt God blesses the humble. Consequently, Paul teaches us, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11
JESUS Himself said, “Learn of me for I am meek and lowly in heart, take my yoke upon you for my yoke is easy and my burden light and you will find rest for your souls”
Is anyone burdened? Jesus says come! HUMBLE YOURSELF! Is anyone needing God’s blessings today? Copy Mary’s example for the Lord exalts the meek and humbles the proud.
