“…A time to heal.” – Ecclesiastes 3:3
My decision not to follow aftercare instructions for a root canal (dental health) led to a whole lot of pain! I didn’t intend to ignore my dentist’s directives, but once the anesthesia wore off it was too painful for me to complete all the steps –so, I didn’t. In the end, my unwillingness to work through aftercare instructions cost me more time, pain, and money to fix and ensure I healed properly.
Sometimes as unbearable as it may be, we must be willing to face and deal with painful circumstances in our lives to be truly healed. While neglecting the issue may provide temporary relief, ultimately it delays our recovery.
Are you hurting today? God knows and cares about it. Rest assured that “there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) So when the gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit brings painful situations to our attention don’t be afraid to deal with it because it’s time for healing!
Thank You, Lord, for ordaining times and seasons. Please teach me how to be sensitive to Your leading in my life so that I may know when it’s time to deal with circumstances I may otherwise avoid. Thank You for Your promise to be with me always. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
